Mariam Ordyan is a visiting scholar in the NINE Lab. She brings a strong background in molecular experimental biophysics and computational neuroscience, and her research interests lie at the intersection of systems-level neuroscience, signal processing, and computational methods. Her goal is to understand how the brain processes information and makes decisions.

She earned her Ph.D. in experimental biophysics at the University of California, San Diego, where she used single-molecule experiments to investigate how bacteriophage molecular motors package DNA. She then completed postdoctoral training in computational neuroscience, studying the molecular mechanisms of synaptic signaling that underlie memory formation. She holds a B.S. in Physics from Yerevan State University.
