This study compares five EEG electrode digitizing methods (ultrasound, structured-light 3D scan, infrared 3D scan, motion capture probe, and motion capture) to evaluate their reliability and impact on source estimation uncertainty. Results show that motion capture with markers placed directly on electrodes provides the best reliability, while all tested methods achieve >80% Brodmann area accuracy, confirming that current digitizing methods are sufficient for accurate brain region identification.
